Mackall Silence of MurderThis book is about a young boy, Jeremy Long, who has been convicted of murdering his baseball coach. During his trial, his younger sister enlists the help of friends to find the actual killer. This book was written in first person perspective, and is based in a small town known as Grain. The book is very easy to relate to; this kind of thing can happen to anybody.   It was also very easy to follow what was happening and it kept you on the edge of your seat, wanting more.

[Editor’s note: The winner of the 2012 Edgar Award for Best Young Adult Novel, The Silence of Murder revolves around Hope Long and her beloved autistic older brother, Jeremy, who is on trial for the murder of the local football coach.  An elective mute, Jeremy’s long history of eccentric behavior and the lack of other suspects means that he is likely to be convicted. With the aid of two friends, Hope searches for the killer.]
