mcdonald-mrs-moody-in-the-birthday-jinxMom’s birthdays have always included disasters.  This year, Judy is determined to make it special and memorable and perfect.  Unfortunately, one thing after another goes awry and Mom’s birthday is filled with the mishaps that have plagued previous ones.  Judy is upset until Mom puts a positive spin on the events.

Verdict: This is a relatable book.  Young readers will understand Judy’s desire and find the mishaps humorous and engaging.  Judy Moody books don’t disappoint and this one is true to the others in the series.  Bright illustrations by Erwin Madrid adorn nearly every two-page spread.
