nelson-on-the-volcanoOn the Volcano is about Katie, a young fifteen year old girl who lives on the crater of a volcano with her father.  Katie’s mother died from an illness years back.  Katie never sees anyone besides her father and two family friends that visit once in awhile.  When Katie turns sixteen, she asks to venture with her father to the nearest town called Badwater.  While there, Katie’s father makes her pose as his son, George.  Katie ends up getting in a fight with a boy named Jess, who starts all the trouble.  Katie learns that not all people are good, but even so, they’re all worth knowing and they all shape your future in some way.
