Pilkey, Dav. Ricky Ricotta’s Mighty Robot vs. the Naughty Night Crawlers from Neptune. Art by Dan Santat. (Ricky Ricotta’s Mighty Robot, #8) Scholastic Inc, 2016. $5.99. ISBN 978-0-439-37709-6. 125 pages. Ages 5-10. P7Q6

pilkey-ricky-ricottaRicky and his robot are trying to build an enormous tree house, yet find that it is unstable and is at risk of collapsing. Additionally, they have irritated their neighbor with the noise resulting in the neighbor making a pact with alien night crawlers to create instability by channeling under the structure. The action can be visualized in pivotal scenes with flip-o-rama pages that display the tussles.  This graphic novel contains lots of colored pictures while remaining easy to understand and appealing too.
