Howard, Martin. Pranks a Lot. (Shaun the Sheep series) Ill. Andy Janes. Candlewick, 2016. $4.99. ISBN 978-0-7636-8742-7. 94 pages. Ages 5-10. P9Q8

howard-pranks-a-lotOne outrageous joke leads to another between best friends Bitzer the herd dog and Shaun the sheep.  The pranksters’ jokes become more exasperating as each friend tries to outdo the other.  How does Bitzer acquire a mustache and glasses?  Who can imagine how Shaun’s fleece becomes bright pink?  It’s all for fun until Shaun is hurt.  Or is this another trick?  Who will get the last laugh in this giggle out loud tale of retaliation and faceful of cowpies.  Inspired by the television show, this is a new installment of Shaun the Sheep, a series that does not need to be read in order to be enjoyed.
