Contaminated is a science fiction zombie story with a twist. The “zombies” are people, mostly in the US, who have drunk a diet water containing a protein which causes zombie-like tendencies. The main character, Velvet, is taking care of her sister after both of their parents succumbed to the disease. The story is engaging, but not a page-turner by any means, although about half-way through the reader wants to know what is going to happen next. Every once in awhile I came across a grammar mistake that made me have to reread the paragraph to understand what was happening, but was fairly clear throughout.
