Book review: Otter Loves Halloween!, by Sam Garton

Garton, Sam. Otter Loves Halloween! Balzer + Bray, 2015. ISBN 978-0-06-236666-5. 20pgs. Ages 2-4 P8 Q8

Garton Otter Loves HalloweenThe end papers are very fun and colorful with lots of different kinds of Halloween candy.  I think it is peculiar the way they refer to the human in the story as the Otter Keeper.  This is a fun story about a little Otter who loves Halloween and is getting ready by figuring out what costume  to wear for Halloween.  Otter dresses the stuffed animals in costumes to get them ready for the trick or treaters.  When Otter is frightened–too frightened to go out to see the trick or treaters, the Otter Keeper helps  come up with a plan to get over the fear.  This may be a great story for preparing little children for Halloween and how to not be afraid.
