Shingu Wandering Whale SharksWandering Whale Shark, originally published in Japan, is an illustrated introduction to the largest fish on Earth. The limited text flows from one page to the next emphasizing both physical and behavioral aspects of the whale shark. Shingu’s textured sketches successfully capture the enormity of the whale shark within its exceedingly enormous environment—Earth’s oceans. Each page is both detailed and concise as Shingu tackles the task of undersea illustration. An informative paragraph about whale sharks is included at the end of the book to supplement the story. This overview of whale sharks is great for any child interested in our oceans and its peculiarly intertwined ecosystems.
