Book review: Everything, by Emma Dodd

Dodd, Emma. Everything. Templar Books, an imprint of Candlewick Press. 2013. Unp. $12.99. 9780763671280. Ages 1-3. P 7 Q 9

Dodd EverythingIn Everything we follow a koala bear mother as she lists all the things she loves about her joey. Dodd uses rhyme and figurative language to help the koala describe her baby’s attributes. The illustrations have a mellow-chromatic scheme and utilize an appealing gold-leaf detail that adds an exotic texture to the story. At the end of this heart-warming tale, the mother realizes what she loves about her baby is everything.
