Jennings, Patrick. Odd Weird & Little. Egmont, 2014. $6.99. ISBN 978-1-60684-568-4. 149 pages. Ages 9-13: P8Q6.
When the new kid joins his class, Woodrow cannot argue with his schoolmates, Toulouse is very peculiar. He’s short and dresses in a suit. He has huge eyes that do not move and barely says a word. But Woodrow is empathetic because he is familiar with having quirks of his own and difficulty fitting in. The frequent target of the class bully himself, he believes that all Toulouse needs is support and encouragement. Toulouse shows his talent in art, music, and sports while proving he also has qualities of being a good friend. Full of love and laughs, Odd, Weird, and Little is hoot for young readers.
